This backyard design emphasizes low maintenance planting options, paired with strategic planning and placement to maximize pleasure and leisure, and minimize effort. Areas of use have been programmed close to one-another so that adults and kids are able to enjoy the space harmoniously. The proximity of the splash pad to the deck allows for close supervision of children by parents from the comforts the deck. The deck itself has been designed to have several zones of use- An outdoor kitchen area is proposed on the south edge, conveniently placed near the entrance of the house.
Opposite this kitchen area, a pergola provides shelter from the sun, while underneath a dinning area is arranged with views of the entire yard. The remaining front tip of the curved deck area is left for the owner’s personal touches, perhaps simply left as a play area for children, a place for flower planters, or a place for lounger or swing.
